A friend, fool, and fraud
A story of two perspectives
The fool:
he was so handsome, so kind
he took my hand,
i had no intention of letting go
The friend:
she was so sweet, but so naïve
he took her hand
did she know?
he was a charmer
sucking her in
only to let go
The Fool:
he really cared
he listened and cooperated
he held me so sweet
so adoring
The friend:
he won her over
he won his prize
did he know?
she was a gate to redemption
freedom from abuse and nastiness
a chance for happiness and cleansing
The Fool:
he made me feel so secure
so complete and perfect
i knew he wouldn’t let go
i was ready
ready to give up looking
because it was right there
between us
we were in love
intimate love
The Friend:
he really blinded her
she followed that scum so loyally
she got her warnings
from her true loves
but the scum defeated us
charm and deceit his weapon
The fool:
my so called friends
were filled with jealousy and lies
they told me awful things
were they trying to pull my love away?
The Friend:
i love her so much
i tried and tried to save her
but she was so badly influenced
she was taken from me
never to be seen again
The Fool:
i was so confused
what happened?
did he no longer love me?
did i do something wrong?
it was just my fault
i knew i was never good enough
i should’ve never burdened him with my love
it was ok, i would be better next time
i pleaded for that next time,
but he continued
The Friend:
an unbearable year passed,
i saw him, he saw me
we both knew who he was
a murderer
he turned and walked away, fearful to show his guilt
his new victim totally oblivious
No longer a fool:
now i look down on them
sometimes I help out
i try to give them clues
sometimes they listen
it reminds me of my fragile human days
when i should have listened
when satan snatched my hand
i should have said no

I really like this poem. I thought that it was a simple poem of a player and a girl but then In realized the true depth of the poem. The ending totally awed me and see the poem from a different perspective. I really enjoy the fool and the friend, the compliment each other and show stark contrast and the end she see's the world in a different view. Very nice. It's like two different poems that correlate perfectly. Nice job!
